We offer:
Foundation Pilates for Everyone
Pilates is an ideal way to exercise in pregnancy as you do not exercise to exhaustion or outside your comfort zone. Pilates, when performed regularly, positively changes the body. It combines awareness of the deep postural and stability muscles, breathing sequences, and alignment, with suppleness and flexibility. The exercises can be modified to allow you to continue to exercise safely and effectively through all trimesters.
Our Antenatal Pilates classes are taught by experienced Women's Health Physiotherapists, Amanda Savage and Nicola Day. We have been teaching Pilates for Pregnancy for 5 years with many women returning during second and even third pregnancies.
Our Antenatal Pilates classes are now organised and co-ordinated by Nicola Day through our sister company Perfectly Pregnant Pilates. Please see her website www.perfectlypregnantpilates.co.uk for further information or click here to be taken directly to the website. (Back to top)
This class is aimed at women returning to exercise after having a baby. The class is held in the evening to allow you to come out once you have settled your baby for the night.
Our Pilates Instructor, Nicola Day, is an experienced Women's Health Chartered Physiotherapist. She leads an hour of exercises with special emphasis on abdominal and pelvic floor muscles with empathy for the difficulties of getting back to exercise after a baby. After reviewing some of the exercises you learnt in the Antenatal classes you will progress to some more advanced exercises to challenge your body and help get you back into shape.
Our Postnatal Pilates classes are now organised and co-ordinated by Nicola Day through our sister company Perfectly Pregnant Pilates. Please see her website www.perfectlypregnantpilates.co.uk for further information or click here to be taken directly to the website. (Back to top)
Foundation classes teach the principles of Pilates and the classic core exercises in a small class. This class aims to help you to:
Develop a foundation in the technique & principles of Pilates exercises
Build a small but effective repertoire of exercises to suit your needs
Learn how to judge if you are doing an exercise correctly
Recognise exercises that would be too advanced for you in a public Pilates class and how to modify them to your level
This class is ideal for absolute beginners or those returning to Pilates after an injury or course of physiotherapy.
The Foundation Pilates class is presently on a Wednesday evening, 6pm at Little Shelford Memorial Hall. The classes are generally in sets of 6 sessions at a cost of £48 for a set. Unfortunately, we are unable to give refunds for missed classes. (Back to top)
Improver and Advanced classes are available to those who have attended our PostnatalPilates or Foundation classes.
